Exceeding 'ecohomes' standard
Housebuilders aiming to achieve maximum credit points under the EcoHomes scheme for new developments can now benefit from installing Ideal Boilers’ market leading range of high efficiency (HE) appliances.
Four of the company’s SEDBUK A rated HE boilers – the icos, icos system, isar and istor – have been independently tested and verified to ‘EcoHomes’ standards and have met targets set for the lowest level of NOx (nitrogen oxide) emissions.
Steve Young, Ideal Boilers’ UK new build and specification director, said: “New construction is increasingly being built to meet the maximum level of the EcoHomes scheme as more housebuilders champion high quality design with sustainability.
One of the key considerations for achieving this benchmark is a home’s central heating system. Under EcoHomes, maximum credit points for boilers are earned when NOx emission levels are less than 40mg/kWh. The Ideal icos, icos system, isar and istor range of HE boilers all exceed the best required by British Standards (usually referred to as Class 5), offering developers maximum points towards achieving an ‘Excellent’ EcoHomes rating.
The Ideal icos HE and icos system HE appliances combine a modern, stylish exterior with a simple yet highly reliable engineering. This has resulted in boilers that are easily installed and that require minimal servicing and maintenance. For tenants, this means an advanced, dependable product which not only looks at home in any environment, but also offers years of trouble-free service.
Available in three outputs from 24kw to 35kw, Ideal’s isar HE boiler provides between 9.5 and 14.4 litres of hot water every minute at 35o C. Each boiler is compact and easy–to-use, requiring no cupboard ventilation. The isar is highly versatile and is perfected suited to homes where space is at a premium.
By combining the boiler and hot water tank in one box, Ideal’s istor provides hot water at a staggering 35 litres per minute, and fits easily into an airing cupboard or utility room. Available in two versions, the HE260 and HE325, representing the amount of water that each boiler will deliver in ten minutes, water is stored at 70oC and then blended with cold water to achieve a maximum temperature of 60°C. The tank will also recover in between seven and ten minutes, resulting in a continuous supply of hot water.
Ideal’s market leading range of HE boilers which meet NOx emission levels of less than 40mg/kWh are:
