Ideal Boilers and PTS Plumbing Trade Supplies have successfully joined forces to outbid the competition in an e-auction to win a major framework agreement to supply Ideal’s market leading range of HE boilers to Bromford Housing Group.
The four year partnership framework agreement will see over 700 new energy efficient central heating systems installed each year in a range of Bromford’s affordable new build homes and existing customers’ properties.
Bromford Housing Group is one of leading Registered Social Landlord (RSL) organisations in the UK, committed to supporting its customers with getting a better deal on the cost of heating their homes, whilst continuing to increase the SAP energy rating of its housing stock to meet the Government’s Decent Homes standard. The company manages 19,000 properties across the midlands and south west, with 1,000 affordable new homes developed each year.
Alex Dixon, group director of asset management at Bromford Housing Group, said: “Increasing energy prices coupled with legislation changes have placed greater demand on RSL’s to be more energy efficient. This means providing our customers with a modern heating system that can save them money off their heating and hot water bills. By installing Ideal’s isar HE boiler in both our refurbishment projects and new affordable homes, it will save customers significant amounts of money off their fuel bills each year.”
After the initial Invitation to Tender process, which produced a shortlist of potential supply partners against a set criteria, Bromford Housing Group decided to run an e-auction to make its final selection. This benefited the RSL as it allowed for an infinite number of re-submissions by suppliers in an open and competitive environment.

All of Bromford’s new and existing homes under the four year framework will feature Ideal’s isar HE combi boiler, which will be supplied through five PTS Plumbing Trade Supplies’ merchant counters across the region. The Ideal isar HE features minimal components and slimline construction, enabling the boiler to be sited almost anywhere in the home, making it perfectly suited to homes where space is at a premium. This, combined with automatic controls, excellent performance and ease of installation makes it one of the most advanced SEDBUK A-rated combi boilers on the market.
