Hull Distribution Centre
The new Hull Distribution Centre was opened in April 2007.
BUILDING DETAILS
The main building is 73 meters wide and 74 meters deep (giving 5402 m2 of floor space) and 14.3 meters high at the centre. The full width cantilevered canopy over the loading area is 17 meters deep giving an undercover working area of 1241 m2.
The overall volume of the main building is 72,516 m3 and the canopy adds another 7446 m3
During the construction of the building 267 tonnes of structural steel was used and a total of 833 piles (12 meter long) were driven into the ground to support the building and the warehouse floor.
The building required a total of 10,853 m2 of cladding to cover the roof walls and canopy.
The laser levelled floor was poured in 4 sections and forms a large part of the 2500 m3 of concrete used in the building construction and external areas
