Partnership Agreement is the Ideal Way forward for Dudley MBC
Ideal Boilers’ market leading range of high efficiency boilers have been specified by CHN Group, one of the foremost providers of gas appliance services to local authorities and housing associations in the midlands, as part of a three year partnership agreement with Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council (MBC).
The partnership, which began last summer, is specifically designed to bring over 3,000 homes up to Decent Homes Standards, as specified by the government. Already, CHN Group has installed 1,000 new energy efficient heating and hot water systems in tenants’ properties, making significant strides to increase the overall SAP energy rating of Dudley Council’s housing stock.
Councillor Michael Evens, Cabinet Member for Housing, said: “Dudley Council is working extremely hard to deliver real change within the community. We aim to improve our housing to meet Decent Homes Standard and, more importantly, the quality of life for local people. We own and manage approximately 24,000 homes in the area and this boiler replacement programme is just one of the many ways that we are committed to delivering a premium service.
The agreement with CHN Group and Ideal Boilers signals an excellent partnership approach to working. Over the past 10 years, we have developed a superb relationship with CHN Group based on the gas appliance services and maintenance support it has provided us with.
As part of the tender process, the Ideal Boilers team produced a complete competitor analysis of some of the leading HE boilers on the market. Against key performance indicators, Ideal Boilers was chosen by CHN Group based on a number of benefits and features of its market leading range of HE appliances. This included the commonality of components across the Ideal range, which helps keep CHN’s spare parts stocks down, a wide range of boiler models offering greater flow rate options, a kitchen cupboard fit and longer and more compact flue systems for easier siting.
To complement the quality and reliability of the company’s products and competitive price, Ideal Boilers also adds value to CHN by providing a first class service offering. All the properties are being fitted with either Ideal’s icos HE or isar HE appliances, which will not only help Dudley Council’s tenants save up to 30% on their heating and hot water bills, but also help meet standards set out by Government for Decent Homes.
Gary Jesson, contracts manager at CHN Group, said: We are installing up to 50 new energy efficient central heating systems each week, therefore it is vitally important we work with a boiler manufacturer we can rely on. CHN Group has installed Ideal’s range of boilers for the past seven years and to complement this, our Training Centre in Tipton also features Ideal’s appliances. This means all of our engineers are confident and competent installing and commissioning the company’s range of products.
The Ideal icos HE appliance combines a modern, stylish exterior with a simple yet highly reliable engineering. This has resulted in boilers which are easily installed and that require minimal servicing and maintenance. For tenants, this means an advanced, dependable product which not only looks at home in any environment, but also offers years of trouble-free service.
Available in three outputs from 24kw to 35kw, Ideal’s isar HE boiler provides between 9.5 and 14.4 litres of hot water every minute at 35°C. Each boiler is compact and easy–to-use, requiring no cupboard ventilation. The isar is highly versatile and is perfected suited to homes where space is at a premium.
